Pressing and packing
After a rigorous quality control procedure, the garments are pressed, labeled, packed and sent on their long journeys around the world. Jagdish is a Gaddi (The local Himalayan people) and came to the workshop four years ago. He had been a casual labourer, breaking stones for building houses, but unable to support his family on his meagre wages. In the beginning Jagdish was very slow at packing, his large rough hands often catching on the fabric! He now packs and labels up to 200 garments a day and he has saved enough to build his own house.
