Ever wondered which one the designer would choose? Eternal Creation designer Frances Carrington shares some of her favourite pieces, and talks about her creative process...
Cap sleeve t-shirt, tiered party skirt, Voile spaghetti strap top, Full circle skirt These are definitely my favourite summer outfits, and we had great fun doing the shoot for these garments! Loads of swirling little girls across the floor of the room with fluttering wings and whirring wands! The girls love the matching scarves and accessories, and I love the matching embroidery. It took me a suprisingly long time to come up with the right design, and finally I settled on a combination on embroidery and applique. I hope you like the result!
Holiday shirt with breast pocket I love this print- so much in fact that I made my husband a shirt in the same fabric! It's so summery and fun, and looks great with matching shorts- either in the orange, denim or a beige- even red looks great! I always like boys shirts that can be teamed with a multitude of bottoms... as boys seem to get filthy most of the time, and always need new shorts (or maybe that's just my son!)
Summer playsuit with contrast trim and patch pocket This has to be the pick of the baby boys summer outfits! These overalls are just so cute and cool, and I love the matching hat. When my children were babies I found it hard to find good hats for them... so now I design hats to go with just about everything. Stay stylish and out of the sun!
Hand crocheted jacket with contrast yoke, beaded flower and tassle tie It's always fun designing the hand knits with Dolly, my hand knitting queen! The gorgeous little jacket is actually crochet, and the flower is hand beaded. I also like the practical cross over pleated dress, as it's lined with a snug cotton flannel, so is lovely and warm while looking super sweet. I think the beaded leggings add a nice touch too.
Cotton kurta dress with decorative topstitching on cuffs and hem I love the contrast of textures in this outfit! The hand knitted scarf is gorgeous and chunky, and the funky kurta top is a soft cotton with a quilted neckline design. It works well with the hot pink pants, and also looks great with jeans or leggings. My daughter loves the sequins and beads on the end of the tie, and experiments with different ways of tying both the belt and scarf.
Overalls with contrast rib trim on hem and pockets Isn't he sweet!? Making baby overalls is always so much fun, and little boys always look great in them! These cotton cord overalls are super cute, and the Milan print matches the cord really well. The Milan shirt has snaps at the crotch which I think is good idea and stops the shirt riding up at the back.
Alpine jacket with faux fur collar, contrast lining & quilted lining I think this is a great outfit- perhaps with a touch of "The Godfather"! It was featured recently in the prestigious New York magazine, Earnshaw's. The contrast of textures works really well, and all of the items can easily be teamed up with other garments in the cupboard.
Cotton kimono with hand embroidered contrast cuffs and collar This is one of my favourite pieces from the sleepwear collection for kids. The Sakura fabric is a Japanese inspired print, and the cool tones of the blues and pinks in the Chrysanthemums works beautifully with the Gypsy floral trim. To complete the outfit we have hand embroidered the collar and cuff, and lined it for warmth. It comes with matching pyjamas, if you want the full matching set!
Classic printed cotton pyjamas with contrast trim I really like these classic cotton pyjamas (my son has about 6 sets now) and I think the Barbados blue stripe is my favourite! There's something so fresh and clean about a little boy in blue stripes... at least they look clean while sleeping!
Long sleeve cotton cambric dress with pictuck yoke For any girl with long dark hair, like our gorgeous Tibetan model Dechen, I think this black daisy dress is a must! I'm not usually a big fan of black for children, but I think the prettiness of the daisies and the embroidery on the pants (see the detailed shots) makes this outfit really work. It's chic and good fun at the same time. As for the beaded black hairclips... they're in my hair now!
